Veterinary Telehealth Initiative

Ballot initiative #144 will make it easier for everyone to access much needed care for their pets – including seniors, disabled people, and people without a vehicle – by increasing options for veterinarians to use Zoom, Facetime and other video services so people can get veterinary care online when their pets need it, including on weekends and in the evening.

Farmers, ranchers, and pet owners in rural communities face long distance travel and extended wait times for a veterinarian appointment. Ballot initiative #144 will improve access to animal care in rural areas by ensuring that veterinarians can use Zoom, Facetime and other video services to treat new patients, so that animals in rural areas can receive care without traveling long distances.
